CHRISTOPHER A. CIANO NAMED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF VISTA
HEALTHPLANS, INC.
SUNRISE, FL. - (Nov. 14, 2007) -- Coventry Health Care, Inc. today announced the
appointment of Christopher A. Ciano as chief executive officer of its wholly
owned subsidiary, Vista Healthplans, Inc. Vista serves 295,000 members
throughout Florida who are enrolled in commercial employer group health plans,
individual policies, as well as Medicare Advantage and state assistance
programs. As chief executive officer of the company's subsidiary, Ciano will
oversee all day-to-day operations for the Sunrise-based company.
"Christopher brings
considerable experience and leadership skills to Vista and the Florida business
community," said Tom McDonough, president of Coventry Health Care. "His energy
and customer-driven results will position Vista and Coventry very well to
expand our presence in the Florida market."
Ciano most recently led the
1.3 million-member commercial group sector for Blue Shield of California in San
Francisco, CA. He also served in various leadership positions over the last 20
plus years with Health Net, UnitedHealthcare, and MetLife Healthcare.
Ciano earned his bachelor's
degree with honors from the University of Southern California.
